日本赤十字と天皇の関係
赤十字は本当に寄付をするのに相応しい組織なのだろうか？その組織を理解するには、誕生の目的や歴史を知ることが近道だ。何の目的で設立され、何をしてきたのかがわかれば、表面からは見えないその組織の実際の姿を知ることができる。「マスコミとお金は人の幸せをこうして食べている」という本がある。この本に、日本の赤十字の設立目的いついて、次のような記述があった。実際には、日本のいちばん醜い日という本からの孫引きになるが、該当箇所を要約でご紹介する。
国際赤十字のシステムは、戦傷者を救うために設立されたことになっている。が、実際にははそうではなく、赤十字は、戦争ビジネスをスムーズに長く行うために作られたもの。太平洋戦争中、アメリカは日本に石油を輸出することを禁止した。しかし、抜け穴があった。赤十字の船だ。赤十字の船は国際条約で攻撃できないことになっている。それを利用して太平洋の委任統治領から、日本へ向けて石油や重要物資（タングステン・四塩化メチルなど）が日本赤十字の船で送られた。
そ
れだけではなく、アジア各地で日本軍が略奪した金、銀、プラチナ、宝石といった財宝も赤十字の船で日本に運ばれた。それらはマルフクという金貨に変えられ 現地に送られ、物資を購入する代金の支払いに利用された。そして余った分はスイスにある財閥や天皇家の秘密銀行に入れられた。戦争が長引けば長引くほど天皇一族と秘密裡に天皇一族を支えた財閥の資産は、天文学的に増えていった。
天皇家は、現在でも日本赤十字の名誉職に就いている。
終戦直前の8月、昭和天皇の皇后（良子）の名で一千万スイス・フラン（当時と現在のスイス・フランの購買力を単純に比較しても約33億円）の巨額な寄付をするとスイスの赤十字国際委員会（ICRA）に提示した。
これに対し、連合国である対日政策決定機関の極東委員会が、この寄付申し込みを受け入れるなと赤十字に通達を出した。しかし、赤十字はこの極東委員会の提案を覆し、1949年5月に秘密裡に送金を受け入れた。この寄付は横浜正金銀行がスイス国立銀行に保有していた「日本の秘密口座」と呼ばれた「特別勘定」から拠出された。
皇室はスイスの国立銀行に秘密口座を持っていたし、現在も持っている。どうして 天皇が自分の名前でなく皇后名で横浜正金銀行からスイスに送金したかは不明である。
元看護士が「日赤だけには寄付しない」と言ったという話があるようだ♪

国際赤十字は、1864年（源氏の1年）に設立された唯一の12年後、1877年（明治10年）に救済を目的とし、「博愛の会（フィランソロピー協会）」という名前の非政府組織を結成したと傷病の保護、および組織が 西南戦争で重要な役割を果たした。
